2008 National Bereavement Teleconference - Living With Grief®: Children and Adolescents

Wednesday, April 16, 2008, 7:30 am-10:00 am

HFA's 2008 Teleconference will focus on the experience of grieving children and adolescents and the ways that hospice professionals, teachers and school administrators, grief counselors, funeral directors, and parents can best support these populations as they cope with loss and grief. The program and newly published book will focus on the most current theories and practices in this area, and as always will combine academic research with hands-on ideas for use in hospice support groups and other settings.

2008 Hospice Orientation & Volunteer Training
April 17, 18, 22, May 13, 15, 16

This year's program series of Hospice Orientation & Volunteer Training has been scheduled for April 17, 18, 22, May 8, May 13, 15, 16. The program has been adapted to meet the changes in the growing levels of interest in the following areas: End of Life Care, Volunteering and Patient Care Volunteering. The training program has 3 levels; Level 1: Hospice End of Life Care Orientation Level 2: Hospice Volunteer Training Level 3: Hospice Patient Care Training. Living and Dying in Everyday Life - Maui Workshop

Evening Public Event, Thursday February 21 at 7:00pm.
Two-day workshop, Friday-Saturday February 22 & 23 from 10:00am to 5:00pm

Featuring Joan Halifax Roshi and Ram Dass, two legendary visionaries in the conscious dying and compassionate end of life care movement.   This community education series provides insights; techniques and practices for compassionate end of life care giving, as well as the integration of the spiritual dimensions in living and dying. Rinzai Zen Mission, next to Baldwin Beach in Paia, will be host for the program's schedule.
